What is a prosthodontist?

A prosthodontists is a dental specialist whose expertise is in the area or restoration of functionality and appearance to a patient’s smile. Whether it’s a matter of cosmetic improvement or there’s a need to replace or restore broken and decayed teeth, a prosthodontist’s training equips them with the knowledge and skill to provide appropriate solutions to enhance a patient’s well being. With the ongoing advancements in dental technologies and materials such as titanium implants, prosthodontists have a wide range of products and procedures they can use to improve a patient’s smile and enable them to enjoy optimal oral health. After receiving their dental degree, prosthodontists complete an additional three yeas of specialty training. Prothodontists are certified through the American Board of Prosthodontics and must successfully pass one written exam and three oral exams.
